The Crouch Street Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy is situated in Crouch Street, Colchester, Essex. Since it opened in the summer of 2003 it has established an excellent reputation. The Centre is within a grade II listed building set in the heart of old Colchester. Its tranquil ambiance is ideal for psychotherapeutic practice.
Cheryl Barnes Tadman and Ruth King co-founded and co-manage the Centre. Cheryl, a senior accredited therapist has been in practice for 22 years. Along with her private practice and GP work, she has also co-facilitated anxiety management groups. Ruth, a senior accredited therapist in practice for 19 years, works exclusively in private practice.
Over thirty therapists work out of the Centre, many of whom are BACP accredited. Therapy is offered to adults, couples, families and children. We also offer psychosexual therapy and group work. Models of therapies include: integrative, psychodynamic, person-centred, transpersonal, gestalt, and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). Some of the therapists also incorporate other tools into their work, including art and drama.
